2025 Christmas Boat Parade
Viewing Party 5 DAYS!
Join us for our 2025 Christmas Boat Parade viewing party on our American Legion Patio. This is an outdoor event. A separate event is held indoors. Please contact the American Legion Office for inside event information.
Event includes your seat for the entire night until 10pm to view the wonderful Newport Harbor Boat Parade. The 2025 parade will be held from December 17-21, 2025. Our event to view the parade includes a complimentary one trip buffet, entertainment, a great view of the parade and Newport Harbor drone show and a night of family fun for everyone. Tickets go on sale in October.

All funds raised go to support our Veteran charities. There are 22 veteran suicides a year and we consider it an honor and obligation to keep our veterans engaged in life to get them through any difficult times. Come join us. Have fun. FLAG DAY - Celebrating and educating the public about the American Flag. Celebrated every June 14 with a band, a bounce house, free hot dogs, flags, pins, comic books about the flag, and a station to color your own commemorative hat for the kids.
This is a FREE event give back to our community meant to promote patriotism and the American Flag.
Patriot Day 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony
Everyone said that they would never forget, but many have. WE HAVEN'T!
Every year on September 11 we hold a solemn ceremony that includes our Honor Guard, Opening Prayer, Bugler, and a Bag Piper to honor those we lost in the attack on 9/11/2001 and those we lost in conflict as a result of that attack. The park is lined with banners that contain all of the names of those lost in the attack and in the conflicts. This serves as a similar tribute to the Viet Nam wall for our GWOT veterans and their families who lost loved ones.

The American Legion Post 291 in Newport Beach, California is a wonderfully unique waterfront venue for any and all special occasions. We have various rooms of different sizes to create intimate or grand settings. We can host parties from 20 to 300 guests. Our courteous and professional event team is here to assist you with all the details.
This private venue is available to the public for weddings, receptions, anniversaries, memorials, and other events. We offer discounts on room rentals for Legionnaires of Post 291 and their immediate families.

Grand Hall, Patio
& Fireside Room
The Grand Hall can accommodate up to 240 people. It has a raised stage, dance floor, adequate lighting, built-in PA system, and built-in LCD projector with a large screen on stage.
The East Patio is the perfect setting for your most intimate celebration or ceremony. Our East Patio offers spectacular views of Newport Harbor.
The Fireside Room can accommodate up to 35 people inside with tables overlooking beautiful Newport Harbor. Umbrellas and heat lamps are available on the adjacent patio.
